Sleeping by lamplight

This is a cat that is cast in shadow next to what seems like a table or the diagonal line of white space. The cat seems like it was first dosing but now is grumpy as it peeks an eye open to look at who had awakened it. This piece was done entirely with charcoal and the fur of the cat was very difficult. I also used blending stubs and a kneaded eraser. This reminds me of when my cat curls up in my lap and I move which wakes her. Took 2.5 hours.
